Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What is included in the Learning Journey program?
Each program (Year 4 and Year 5) includes:
-
Weekly group tuition classes
-
Access to our parent guidance course (modules open monthly so it is not overwhelming)
-
One challenge every term (vocabulary, comprehension, or creative writing) included in your fee
-
Recordings of all classes so your child can catch up at any time
-
Access to BOFA, our online practice platform
Q2. How many challenges are included and what are they?
One challenge every term is included. Additional challenges will be add-on paid services that you can sign up for through our website. A timetable of all challenges will be shared before the program starts so you know exactly which are included and which are optional extras.
Challenges focus on vocabulary, comprehension, and creative writing. They are short bursts of focused prep that motivate children, give them peer support, and show them that tough challenges can be cracked with the right strategy.
Q3. How much work will my child need to do each week?
We recommend one and a half to two hours of BOFA practice a week, alongside the weekly tuition session and reading at home. This keeps the workload realistic and manageable.
Q4. Will my child get personal attention in a group class?
Yes. Our tutors are experienced in managing groups so that all children can take part. With up to 25 children per session, the balance is right for affordability while still giving each child space to learn. Parents also get guidance on how to support learning at home, which makes the program more personalised than a simple group class.
Q5. What if my child cannot attend a live class?
All classes are recorded. Children can watch the replay at a convenient time and benefit just as much as being there live.
Q6. How is this different from ordinary tuition?
This is not just weekly lessons. It is a full program. Children receive tuition, online practice through BOFA, and focused challenges. Parents get their own guidance course too. Everything is joined up so families know what to do and when.
Q7. Why are you moving to BOFA this year?
We want stability for our families. BOFA tests children from day one, adapts to their needs, and is more affordable than other platforms we have explored. We want stability for the families throughout the program.
Q8. Is there a guarantee that my child will get into a grammar school?
There is no guarantee — nobody can promise that. Admission depends on effort, preparation, and a little bit of luck. What we can promise is that we will give you the structure, guidance, and support that we have been giving parents for over 10 years. The Learning Journey ran successfully last year with wonderful reviews. Results are never in anyone’s hands, but effort always is.
Q9. Where can I find reviews of the program?
You can read parent reviews on Google Maps here. We are very grateful to the families who have shared their honest experiences.
